We had all the info the drivers gave us (insurance card, DL, plates, etc), trouble was, she lied and moved around alot/. Turns out her boyfriend owned the vehicle and had to be tracked down!. All this took six-eight weeks and multiple Internet 'people' searches, calls to Liberty, to State Farm (her mothers company on the insurance card) and finally, calls to Farmers!. I had to literally find out myself who her boyfriend was, track his multiple addresses and phone numbers online, call SF and Farmers, begging their Agents to help:.
Liberty refused to help with anything, all the way through to the end?. I wrote a letter and called their Head Office.. They could have cared less.. That company should NOT be in the auto insurance business or maybe any business. They are head-officed in Lake Mary, FLA. Ironically where I grew up and it was a beautiful place. Now, as far as I'm concerned, it's a slimy swamp because Liberty is housed there.
If not for agents at State Farm and especially the footwork and fast action of Farmers, We would have been stuck with 1400 dollars in damage and points on my DL. We were 100% innocent and because one young woman lied three times and refused responsibility, we had to do the lion's share of the investigation.
Lesson learned. Check sites like this one before making ANY purchase. Never use Liberty Mutual for auto insurance. You do so at your own risk. And please, please techno-geeks and young women especially: stay off of the cell phones and texting while you drive. It's dangerous, ***, selfish and has killed many people-especially the young. Is that what you want to risk for a few addictive seconds of answering the phone or a message? It's not cool to kill others and go to jail for years, so chill out and pull over to the side of the road-be smart, stay alive. 12a6851

| 1. Written by Twinkie on February 8, 2012 from detroit, michigan, US I agree Liberty Mutual is a ripoff. I had their insurance and after reading your comment, thank God I never had a claim with them. However, when I cancelled my insurance with them, I was told that I owed them a late payment because they deliberately put my account in the arrear which they claim is part of their company practice. Although, I had my premiums payments automatically deducted out of my bank account therefore I was not late with my payments they still put my account in the arrear. The rep gave me so lame excuse for this practice but I didn't buy it. All I know is that if you cancel your insurance for whatever reason Liberty Mutual has their company set up so you will owe them money for cancelling your insurance. |
