When I tried to switch the 2nd year in my coverage with them, I was told that I was going to penalized for 6 months because of the switch. They stated the policy was for a year, and I was switching mid-policy. For one thing, I was never told this when I signed up with them that I would be penalized for switching!. They stated that it was included in paperwork that they gave me:. I asked them if I had signed this document that stated that I had read it.. Of course, they said, "No'." I told them that I had signed all of the papers that they had given me in their office, but that was not in the paperwork!. So, Liberty Mutual is going to charge me a % of the policy and a penalty for switching'.
I want to warn consumers to stay away for this insurance company'.
They constantly increased my premiums and they don't tell you that the policy period is for one year/. So, if you switch after six months, you're in for a hefty penalty and a percentage of the policy.

I have had Liberty Mutual for the past year and they have been an awesome insurance company. I have never had a claim, but know that they will be there for me in case I ever do. Prior to purchasing auto insurance, I shopped around and found that Liberty had the best rates available. I was able to go into a local office to sign the paperwork and clear up any questions that I had with my policy. My personal agent sends out hand written holiday cards and even called me on my birthday, giving me the personal satisfaction to stay with Liberty Mutual. I know that they will be there for me in case I ever have the need to file a claim. |
| 2. Written by Wanda B. on August 5, 2011 They prity much did the same to me. I was with Prudentual Insurance and they gave my policy to Liberty Mutual. I got a letter they wouldn't increase the cost of my insurance, so I didn't worrie. It was my falt for not watching the bank accout closer, but they had more then doubled my cost without telling me. I have a spotless driving record without even a parking ticket. Around a year later I noticed and emedietly called to cancel. Insted of canceling my account they sent me a new policy and kept billing as usual. The more I faught them the more fraudulent information they made up, eventualy leading up to them filing a fraudulent claim with a colection agiency, Deliberitly to damage my spotless credit. I have the contract prooving my side and a Magistrate Judge sided with them without them having to answer to anything. Again shoking me with the boldness of injustice. I had a contract prooving my side. I started asking for donations in news papers around my area and around the area of there agent that was handling my case. Now they are willing to meet with me at the Court House to try and resolve this. Now everyone knows the case and it would be a realy big thing if the judge sides against a legaly binding contrack. If they don't settle befor court they are going to be found guilty of nothing less then fraud. Never give up your fight. Ask for donations to help with legal fees in locations where people that know them will see it, along with a url for people to see the evidence for themselfs. Never give up. In the end they have to re-imburse you for all the crap they pulled. But be prepaired for a long fight. |
