I was hit by a driver insured by Liberty Nutual. The otehr driver had a stop sign. I had the right of way, no traffic signals whatsoever. Liberty Mutual has decided I am partly responsible and will not cover 100% of my damages. They claim that it is a law that every driver must slow down to below the posted speed limit when entering an intersection. Why don't we all go out there and try this and see how many accidents we create by slowing down every time we approach an intersection where 2 streets meet? My carrier has told me this is their mo. They try to shortchange people on claims all the time but that they will go through arbitration and will lose as the argument is ridiculous. 12a6876

Liberty Mutual is expert at finding loopholes in coverage. I was hit by a hit and run driver, had not one but FOUR eyewitnesses, filed a police report, and was inside a store when this happened. Their excuse, even though I paid for 'uninsured motorist' coverage, is that while we had the license plate number, the resulting license check came back to an owner that had died. Someone had stolen, or was using, the plates. So, because the actual driver could not be located, this became MY problem. I had to investigate to find out this much--Liberty Mutual was NO help and could not care less what happened with my account. Their reason for NOT paying a single dime? "Since we can't find the real driver, we can't show they don't have insurance". Really? Well I can tell you, nobody, including ME has any insurance that will apparently cover this. "What's your policy?" per the commercial? NOT PAYING ! I have switched and now I'm in good hands with ALLSTATE. I DETEST Liberty Mutual Insurance.
