April 2011 several tornadeos went through my family's neighborhood leveling several homes. Many were left homeless, several people killed. My family's home has severe damage. Liberty Mutual STILL has not settled the claim. They can not live in the house because of the damage which includes cracks in the house where moisture is getting in, bricks that are not stable that can be easily moved with your foot, windows that need to be replaced, etc. The damage is approximately $70,000 and Liberty Mutual is offering them like less than half of what it will actually cost to repair the home.

Meanwhile, while they are waiting for Liberty Mutual to do their job, have been assigned adjustor after adjustor after adjustor and the moisture is still getting into the house which has caused mold. The mold is getting worse and worse and one of the kids was getting sick due to the mold so the family moved into a hotel because they couldn't find a house to rent. Liberty Mutual is refusing to pay their hotel bill, the mold is still growing and they have exhausted their funds, maxed-out their credit cards, etc. just trying to live!.

They got kicked out of the hotel because they could no longer pay their bill and they were living in their back yard in a tent:. I made some calls and got a trailer for them to live in temporarily but this has been approximately 8 months..

Liberty Mutual won't do anything, FEMA won't help because they have insurance, Habitat for Humanity is waiting to see what the insurance company will do, Red Cross isn't doing anything, State Insurance Commissioner's office wants to see what the insurance company is going to do'. NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING, meanwhile, this family is surviving off of donations from family, friends and strangers, surviving by getting food from food pantries, etc.. Liberty Mutual doesn't want to pay for the mold damage because they said the damage happened AFTER the tornado and wasn't a result of the tornado,. Well, if Liberty Mutual had authorized payment to fix the repairs at the house, the mold wouldn't exist!

I am calling around and looking for resources for them so that I can try to help them but I am running out of options.. This is not my home, this is the home of some of my relatives;. They can not afford to hire an attorney to represent them so who do they turn to now? SOMEONE, PLEASE HELP! 35b1e85
